Sandra was born in Juayúa, Sonsonate, El Salvador and immigrated to the United States with her mother at 1 ½ years old. Sandra is the first out of her family to attend college, and is currently working on her BA in Sociology with an emphasis in Law & Society. Her career goals include becoming an Attorney where she would practice Immigration and Criminal Defense Law.
Growing up in a low income community, Sandra has witnessed racial and economic disparities that fuel her drive to help others. Her passion for Immigration stems from her first hand experiences with immigration law and watching members of her community be dehumanized due to their immigration status.
In her spare time, Sandra is an active member of a grass roots organization called Brown Issues where she advocates for rights of underserved communities. She plans to stay committed to advocacy throughout the rest of her journey and her career.
